Recently I have been to South Africa with my wife. During this trip we mainly visited national parks to watch and photograph the beautiful wildlife of South Africa. We both love doing that.
When I was processing my photos from our trip it struck me that I took a lot of portraits of animal faces as well. I think somehow the portrait photography I do for Marco Hofman Imaging influences my wildlife photography. And probably it will be the other way around too.
Here are some portraits I made in South Africa:
As far as gear goes this was pretty simple. All natural light. No strobes and softboxes or whatever. Just a plain telelens.
If you guys are interested to see some more regular wildlife images of this trip just let me know.
