This time something I have completely different to write about. No photoshoot. Well … not really. Just a little. I only shot 1 image.
I got an odd question of someone. At least. For me as a photographer I mean. The question in itself wasn’t so strange. He told me that his father had passed away a while ago. When they cleaned up his fathers house they found an old black and white photograph of his dad at the attic. Mind you that this photograph must be at least 40 years old.
The question was if I would be able to make a copy of that photograph. And I said that I would try to do so for him.
So I created a setup with studio flashes and made a digital photograph of this picture with my high resolution camera. This is what the original picture looked like:
After that I loaded the image into Photoshop and did some cleaning to it. I removed the scratches, dirt and some residue of tape that seemed to have been onto it. And this is the end result that came out of it:
I think it came out pretty well.
For this shoot I used two studio flashes with small square soft boxes. Each with equal power and their light as equally spread over the picture as possible.
